Database access
The global dataset is composed of 45 sequences of 3D ultrasound volumes of one cardiac cycle from 45 patients. Ultrasound recordings were acquired at 3 different hospitals with 3 different brands of ultrasound machines. The database will be made available to participants in three stages through the dedicated MIDAS website after a personal registration. A training dataset of 15 patients along with the corresponding manual contours will be provided from the 1st of March 2014. The two remaining test datasets, each containing 15 patients, without manual annotations will then be provided to the participants, one after the 13th of May 2014 and one during the challenge day itself at the MICCAI conference in Boston in September. Data are provided through the conventional "raw/mhd" format.
Study population
The targeted population for the study is composed of 45 patients divided into 3 subgroups as follows:
- 15 healthy patients;
- 15 patients with previous myocardial infarction at least 3 months after the event;
- 15 patients with dilated cardiomyopathy.
Involved systems
In order not to make this challenge dependant on only one equipement, the above database has been equally acquired using the three following systems:
- GE system refered as Vivid E9, using a 4V probe;
- Philips system refered as iE33, using a X5-1 probe;
- Siemens system refered as SC2000, using 4Z1c probe.
