The talk will be presented by, Dr. Simone Balocco, Associate Professor of the University of Barcelona, Spain and researcher of the Computer Vision Center, Bellaterra, Spain. The seminar will briefly introduce the main research lines of the Computer Vision Center and the active projects of the MiLab (Medical Imaging Lab) group. Particular emphasis will be given to a particular project of the team, dealing with Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) images. The talk will describe computer vision techniques applied to IVUS, along with the analysis of the quantitative results addressing the problem of atherosclerotic plaque evolution.
