Detection and Quantization for MRI molecular images

PURPOSE AND CONTEXT

There is a rapid growth in the use of MRI for molecular and cellular imaging. Anyway, in this contex, the following question illustrated by the figure belows is still open. Which contrast agnets associated to which MRI acquisition protocol and to which image processiing techniques are to used to answer which biological questions or clinical problems?

METHODS

In this framework, we will follow 2 scientific axes:

  • Numerical simulation and modellling of MRI molecular images (SIMRI BENO-05)
  • Quantitative image processing of MRI molecular images (texture analysis, processing in the Fourier domain...)

Based on this last action, we will define detection and quantization for different types of molecular contrast agents.
