The
dataset is composed of 5 patients. For each patient, the CT image
and some segmentation are provided, about 30-40 structures by
patients. Images are available in two types of file formats: DICOM
(anonymized) and MetaImage (mhd). Segmentations are as polygonal
contours in Dicom-RT-Struct files and converted as binary image in
mhd format (0 for background and 1 for foreground). Note the
binary images were cropped and the image origin has been kept
consistant.

Data Description
The patients were being treated against lung cancer at the Centre Léon Bérard, in Lyon, France. CT images were acquired in breath-hold. Patients received an intra-venous (IV) constrast agent, the inplane image resolution was in the range [0.63-0.83] mm, and the slice thickness was of [0.8-2] mm. The images have been manually segmented by three radiation oncologists (RL, LC, GP). Experts delineated lymph node stations 1 to 11 following the new IASLC stations definition. Segmentation was performed on a slice by slice basis, following the guidelines. Experts took into account the remarks made in [Lynch 2013] and provided a single consensual segmentation for each station. They also provided the delineation of several mediastinal anatomical structures that were used during the contouring process of the stations. This set of structures is composed of vessels, arteries, etc... mentioned in the guidelines.
It is worth noting that such a manual delineation of about 250 structures (16 stations and more than 30 structures per patient) is a very time consuming process. The instructions were to delineate anatomical structures only on the slices that are needed to guide the stations segmentation, so most of the structures are not completely delineated.
