[Vv] VV aborted when opening images

Dear VV community,

I managed to install the latest version of VV on githib successfully some
time back using the superbuild file and it was working fine. However,
recently, after opening vv and then trying to open any image it aborts it
and gives the following error:

Has anyone experienced this? This may be due to a recent update to our 64
bit redhat linux system but if anyone has any suggestions please let me
know.
