[Vv] CDE: Automatically create portable Linux applications

Thanks Joel. Do you believe that this is better than compiling vv
statically? Or should we do both? So far, our distributed binaries for
Linux were compiled statically on an old os (scientific linux) to be
executed on "any" platform.
