[Vv] One point to think about for vv releases

  Hi all,

Internally, we tend to limit the number of supported image types for the various 
filters, in order to speed up compilation. However, for the release, we should 
at least consistently support a certain number of image types (char, short, 
float...) and dimensions.
What do you think this list should be?
