I have just started a new job where I'm being exposed to the world of
DICOM, and have just been asked to read some DICOM images on the
Siemens Leonardo workstation that we have here.
Siemens has supplied a standard set of images with the workstation
where on the main directory there is a file called DICOMDIR and a
subdirectory (with an eight-digit name). In this subdirectory there is
a set of 2987 files each with a 8-digit filename and each between 50
and 200 kb in size. This CD can be read perfectly fine using the
Siemens Leonardo.
I have now been given a set of our own images. My CD contains a single
subdirectory. This subdirectory contains a set of *.img and *.oly file
pairs, and a number of further subdirectories. Each of these new
subdirectories contains a *.dcm, *.oly, and *.xmd file triplet and then
a set of further *.dcm files. When I attempt to read this CD using
Windows Explorer on the Leonardo I see the above files. However when I
attempt to view these files through the Siemens Lonardo system it
appears as though the CD is blank.
Do you have any suggestions either about what to do in my situation, or
what the relationship is between these two different file structures.
Thankyou,
Mark
