Hi vv guys,

As you probably know, the ROI tool in vv, while useful, flickers a lot
when changing slices. I believe I may have pinpointed at least part of
the problem. If you check the captures, you will see that the ROI on top
changes randomly when changing slices. I believe this is due to the fact
that the two ROIs are on the same z plane. Of course there is no reason
this should be the case, since we use a parallel projection, we can put
everything in its own plane (this is already the case for other things
such as the overlay).

I'm willing to try to patch it, but I need answers to the following
questions:

0) Is this reasonable, or am I completely mistaken?

1) (for David, I think!) In which class should I alter the z plane of
the ROI?

2) How should we manage which object goes on which plane? There is
already the image, the overlay, the ROIs, the vector field, ... It would
be nice to have at least a general rule to avoid putting two things on
the same plane.
